What’s it all about?
To ensure that our club is accessible to all we need to plan towards implementing disability access for the upstairs area. This is no mean feat, and Ben McCarthy our quiet yet very (very) committed committee member has taken on the task in submitting a proposal to the shire of Busselton as part of our action plan.
In keeping with our requirements set out by the shire, we need to plan to install an internal lift at the clubhouse within the next 10 years.
For those who aren’t in the ‘lift business’ a lift suitable for our clubhouse comes in at around $80,000!
Our proposal to the shire is that we save $8000 per year towards the lift inclusion.
SO – to kick start the plan Southwest cruises have generously donated a ‘Taste of the Bays’ cruise, for up to 24 guests for the exclusive use of DBYC members. This will be setting off at around 3.45pm on Friday 19th January 2023 from the Quindalup boat ramp, with courtesy pick up and drop off for all getting on board and a 7-course menu prepared by the one and only Tony Howell, who you may have experienced at the beautiful Cape Lodge located in Wilyabrup.
